Ever since I was a little girl I knew that I wanted to be in education. I admired my teachers and administrators and hoped to one day impact children the way they impacted me. After graduating from the University of Central Florida, I spent 6 years in the classroom. Through those experiences I knew I wanted to impact more than the students that came into my classroom, I wanted to impact the adults in the building as well.
This led me to obtaining my M.Ed in Educational Leadership while becoming an Exceptional Student Education Resource Teacher and Instructional Coach. This position afforded me the opportunities to directly work with teachers on increasing student achievement. I was able to support the specific needs of students and teachers through intensive interventions and instructional feedback.
As I enter year 6 as an assistant principal, I continuously reflect on what I needed as an aspiring AP and new AP and through that reflection, have found my PASSION: elevating teacher leaders and assistant principals through customized coaching plans and ongoing professional development. I want to help other APs become confident, impactful, and enjoy what they do! I understand how hard it is so let me help YOU get through it too!
This year, I am honored to have been chosen as a finalist for my district's Assistant Principal of the Year. I am humbled and motivated to continue my quest to reach as many assistant principals in their journey's; to provide the support and development so that they can manage those daunting tasks of being the assistant principal while also supporting the schools goals as an amazing instructional leader.
